The Hellenic Authority for Higher Education has been accepted as a member of the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR), the official organisation of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), which includes national quality assurance agencies that follow European ESG standards.

HAHE submitted the application to EQAR in October 2021 and the complex process was successfully completed in March 2023, after approval by the relevant Committee (valid from 3-03-2023 to 30-09-2027).

The President of the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE), Prof. Pericles A. Mitkas and the Director-General Dr. Christina Besta represented HAHE at ENQA’s General Assembly meeting, which took place on 26-28 October in Stockholm, Sweden. The event was organised in cooperation with the Swedish Higher Education Authority (UKÄ) and was held at the Karolinska Institutet.

Among the issues presented and discussed in plenary and breakout sessions were: quality assurance of transnational higher education, global perspectives on quality assurance, QA of e-learning, QA and recognition and future perspectives on the ESG. The HAHE President also voted for ENQA President, Vice-Presidents and board members in the General Assembly meeting (for members and affiliates).

The President of the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE), Prof. Pericles A. Mitkas and the Director-General, Dr. Christina Besta, represented HAHE at the Spring General Assembly meeting of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), which took place online on Thursday 22 April 2021. Among other business, the 54 participating members elected new Board members, a new President and two Vice-Presidents of ENQA.

The President of the Hellenic Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency (HQA), Prof. Pantelis Kyprianos and the Director-General Dr. Christina Besta will represent the HQA at the 10th ENQA General Assembly to take place from 16 to 18 October 2019 in Yerevan, Armenia. The event will be hosted by the National Centre for Professional Education Quality Assurance Foundation (ANQA).
